Whenever I go to a drillship, I need to bring my weapons and ammo to them (or collect ammo from the dead COGS). But the problem is that whenever I go to the drillship and damage, steal or destroy them, my inventory space is smaller because I am carrying several ammunition and weapons at the same time. You could have a separate weapons and ammo slot even though you could carry fewer weapons and ammo at the same time.Of the 30 inventory spaces at least 10 I use for weapons, ammo and medical kit.
Yeah ive heard this a few times before, and i agree it should probably change, ill take a note :)
I absolutely disagree with this one. Inventory management should be a challenge.
When walking around in real life you are limited how much you can carry. The game should behave the same way and it should leave it to the user to decide whether to rather carry resources or ammo.
TFD why would you want it more complicated for people shouldn’t it be the other way around and be as non complex as if can be
I’d just like to see a better system than repeatedly mashing the 3 key to cycle through weapons. I don’t really care if it takes up inventory space or not.
I think perhaps seperate slots for the weapons themselves, but leave ammo taking up regular slots
Maybe a backpack upgrade would fix this better.
@Donkeykong absolutely not. Games being complex is what makes them fun. Note that I said “complex”, not “hard” (while hard can also be what some people are looking for but that’s not the point here)
Example : let’s say in Volcanoids, we make the inventory infinite, remove the energy and core points on ships, remove the need for ammo on all weapons and turrets, and give you infinite health and stamina, and also make the eruption only damage stuff to 50% of their health. Would the game still be fun ? No, you removed all of the challenges.
Here, it’s just about making inventory management easier. But I think it’s already easy enough : take what you need to survive, leave enough room for loot. The more rrom you leave, the less equipment you have, the more equipment you have, the less room you leave. It all balances itself out really nicely.
I guess that makes sense
