Jumping increases movement speed whilst running#961

This mechanic has become widely popular from CS:GO in the term, bhopping. Allowing the user to hold space whilst swaying movement left and right should allow a slight increase of movement speed. This can help in a multitude of scenarios, mostly usefull in escaping COG’s when ammo may be depleted, or retreating to the drill ship upon imminent eruption of the volcano.

Alternatively, have a consumable in game that can give a short boost of movement speed or increased stamina. Maybe the introduction of fruits that you can grow inside the drillship using seeds, UV lights and water that can then produce high protein foods that give you a boost. I’d not make these easy to find nor easy to grow as this can provide a hefty advantage if used correctly. Maybe an increase in all movement? Reloading times, running, increased stamina or reduced fatigue?

I’m not fond of jumping making movement faster. In fact, I don’t see why a certain combination of movement keys would make you faster, I never really understood that as it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.
I’ll ignore the second part of your post when voting because we cannot manage two posts in one.

As for the second part of your post, it just sounds like you read #340 and thought it’d be nice to repost.

to the first part: This mechanic in csgo originates in much older Quake, where it was basically a bug.

And about stamina/speed boost, it would be nice if for example medkits boosted stamina too
