Coal/Wood#623

You should add coal you have to mine to fuel the drill, it would make it a bit more complicated and challenging, whenever you run out of coal you can’t start the drill to escape from the volcano.

Same idea with the wood, I know it would take a lot but you could add ways to upgrade your drills and you could start at wood then move on to coal etc.

I’m in love with challenging games and I think this would be an awesome add

They already have concept art for windturbines, so alternative energy is planned for the game…. but I don’t think they had plans to expand the system downward.

From what I gather, they want to offer alternative sidegrades, that have their own benefits and drawbacks.

There have been discussions of Solar, Diesel, and the mention of Tesla Coil defensive systems might have some sort of Tesla Generators as well in the long term plans.

It would be really cool if they allowed us to work with wood, because at some point, they are going to add more cosmetic items to fill our drillship with. Wood Furniture would be keen… but we need to be able to harvest the wood first! Naturally, if you can chop it up, perhaps it could be burned or processed into charcoal.

Perhaps you could have higher tier weapons that use wood for embellishing our weapons. Or low tier weapons use wood parts? I’m flexible on this.

Another consideration would be for there to be Rubber Tree’s on the island. Rubber has a variety of industrial uses, as well as being good for electrical grounding. Since we can already harvest sulphur in the game, it would also be nice if we could combine that with rubber to make vulcanized rubber (Or… Volcanoided Rubber!?)

Finally, if wood is added into the game, we could actually get something for busting open those blast shelter doors and the gates to mines… am I being too greedy?

The Trees are there, people definitely want to interact with them!
