Currently the “dump all” button has very little use. In the beginning it is helpful, but later-on you will have several items in your inventory that you dont want to dump (weapons, repairkit). However, you might want to refill them in some cases (ammunition). And you also might not want them with you when you move out (breach kits) or when you are underground (mortar).
My suggestion is that the player dumps his whole inventory in the online stash. And then steps to one of his pre-configured loadout-stations. Each station can define a certain set of items that the player will pick from the online storage to his inventory.
Example:
Loadout explorer: binoculars, pistol, improved power-pickaxe, hill-climbing boots, medikit
Loadout defender: armor, medikit, sniper rifle, repair kit
Loadout breacher: armor, medikit, revivekit, mortar, grenades, explosives, more grenades
Loadout mechanic: repair kit, breach kit
The player could then move up to one of these stations and dump his current inventory in the online stash and replenish the selected loadout directly from the online stash as well. 1-click and ready to go. Either before or after an expedition.
No longer having to search for the blasted sniper rifle in the stack of copperbars again.
You could even go one step further and create a special “loadout door”, which has two loadouts configured, one for entering and one for leaving the drillship. That way the player could even save the single click and always knows that he would leave his ship well prepared.
This is both already a thing and planned. When you click “dump all”, it will dump all non-combat items. It will keep your weapons, ammo, medkits, etc.
As to the loadout thing, well, there’s a dispenser planned. I’ll mark this suggestion as “Dispenser”.
