More customisable drillship exteriors#26

Just that all the drilships look so similar, and if there was a bit more difference,like a set of different looking drills, modules, etc that could be randomised to make each ship look more unique and perhaps mirrior a player’s playstyle.

Stuff like that is planned that will solve this problem ;

• DrillShip color and pattern customization
• DrillShip aesthetics changing in function of upgrades installed

Randomised modules look sounds great, but also sounds like a lot of work, and maybe for not much in the end… We’ll see when they all get their actual proper model :)

We definitely want to add some form of customization so you can personalize the drillship more, it just had lower priority so far. The planned things are different colors, patterns, furniture and maybe different drills.

We also talked to somebody (during some event) about a slider that could adjust the amount of dirt on the drillship. Not sure if that’s planned tho

With new models comeing into the game for modules you could save the old models and use them as a legacy skin choice for people.

Not sure if fitting to this, but how about also the option to ‘double wide’ the drill ship - to do so you may need 2 drill heads and what not but would offer some more interesting configuration options etc. although might be more taxing on the animations?… Would give extra roof mount spots for modules and larger rooms but the same number of wall mounted modules as the interior connections could not have modules.
