Tech I Version: Observation Dome module on top of your drill, you click and get lifted up into it to look around
Tech III Version: 2/3 Slot Module, cable fixed hot air balloon, you click and you get lifted up into the air high above the drill ship with an optional telescope to look around and scout the map.
Both obviously only work on the surface.
