Currently, if your drillship is attacked while you’re away, you have to deal with repairs and ammo costs, but the loot will have despawned loooooooooong before you get back. I’ve also found myself dropping something out the side of an enemy drillship during an attack, only to come back not five minutes later to discover the chest has vanished. It’s very silly. It’s fine if bodies despawn for performance’s sake if their loot is dropped as a chest, but I don’t think loot should ever despawn except during eruptions.
