Lesbe drillship Segments behind#1600

Ok the Titel Sounds weird, Why would you want to leave segments

Because it makes you dive a tiny bit faster. It would take a lot of time to implement this when one would probably never use it outside of testing. However, leaving segments underground could protect them while your drillship is on the surface, fighting off cogs. I don’t think this would be worth implementing for how little practical functionality it would bring.

a tiny bit faster isnt really beneficial to the game, track upgrades are already a thing, and you can just leave like 30 seconds before the eruption quick enough anyways

No no no, he’s got a point.
We juat need a solid reason for this function.

My idea - same as drill head, if segment damged too much, it will stop working, and ship will stuck in place. So if you don’t have resources/time to fix it quick enough before eruption, you will be forced to abandon destroyed drillship segment, and save at least what’s left instead.

@Inrek_Fox Hmm, issue I see is what happens if it’s the first segment? Then the entire thing won’t work as if it were the drill, so this is two things you need to look after/worry about. It also may not be as obvious to new players.

Other issue I see is the reclaiming of the wreckage. Aside from it being minimal as all modules and equipment inside (as well as their contents) just being gone, all it takes is yourself or another cog drillship surfacing there to erase it all.
