Above ground travel#1235

Now that we have tanks that patrol the surface of the island, would it be possible for drillships to do something similar? giving it the ability to travel short distances above ground would make the resource grind less intimidating and would make it easier to keep track of the drillship too, mabye implement it is a special upgrade or module?
