EMP module#1162

I just saw you mention in the nuclear Power post that than you’d have enough power for an EMP. You could already insert an EMP by running it with transistors that take a long time to charge. Transistors discharge much faster. In this way, huge amounts of energy are collected that are sufficient for an EMP. only you would have to manually ignite and then maybe wait 20 minutes, bite the next impulse is ready.

sounds interesting, how about this?: a roof emp module that can stun all cogs in a large area for a while but takes massive amounts of power, it will have to be manually activated and is used as somekind of last resort, it will come in 3 tiers with higher tiers having a larger range and longer stun but requires a little more power. Its recharge rate can fully depend on how much power you generate (this could lead to having a battery module as well)

This is exactly what I thought. Except the battery module but this Idea is also wery good. Maybe the reload time departs in the tier. The First tier need 25 Minuten but lese Energy and lese effectivity, the Seconds Tier need 20 Minuten to reload and a little Bit Mode power and the Third Tier need 15 Minuten to reload an is Berry effectiv but need Slot of Power.

Interesting. The range shouldn’t be too big as to not affect raids and all, but this could be a good defensive option. This would mean that if you stay to defend your ship, your presence is even more valuable as the EMP can only be activated manually. Or, optionally, the EMP could trigger automatically if the ship detects a module being destroyed.

I agree with it requiring a lot of power, but the issue is that power is really not an issue currently. Removing 500 power does essentially nothing. Either your balance is positive and you’ll make that back quickly, or it’s negative and you won’t even be able to trigger it to begin with. Something else has to be required.

then how about this?: the emp slowly takes more and more power generation until it reaches what it needs or after using the EMP, power generation would be a % lower for some time

Maybe the tower is after the use broken and you need to repair it with some material. Some parts can be wery hot because of the power. But I dont know, how we repair it. Definitely without the repair tool. We get this everywhere.

I just think that with the current energy system, anything using energy in a different manner than energy/s would not fit in nicely.

The tower being damaged is a big no. That would be more annoying than fun. We can simply imagine that it would need some kind of “ammo”, for example a special wopper wire or a piece of machinery that “breaks” everytime you use the module and needs to be replaced. The lore could be that, but it would essentially work like every other turret ammo.

Maybe you need copper coils as ammunition. The core might be titanium or diamond, so you can’t make it too soon.

That’s what I imagined in #53, but yes, it does sound like something like this would work here.
