Stockpile module (large-scale storage of specific items)#1126

Specific module that has limit on SLOTS, but not NUMBER of an item. 2 or 3 slots, but it allows of massive storage of single type ores or scrap.

Weird, I’m fairly certain we already had a post about that idea. Who knows, it might be buried deep within the depths of this website…

Anyways. The idea was talked about by devs a very long time ago, so at least at one point it’s been considered. No idea where the idea is at today.

Should also disconnect from the models. Systems should not be able to auto pull from them as they are un deep storage ( ram vrs disk drive ) for our computer people

Rocky, then what’s the point?! You mine, and put instockpile, or if you want to use it you have to manually take it in YOUR inventory, and then move to ship? I already said the negative stat for balance. You can onlu put few types. If you ALSO need to manually load and unload it it will become worse than standart ship storage.

It could hold more of 1 item and if it it could auto move items as is it would replace the normal storage for multiple of this new type as the drill head could hold 1 time use items

Drillhead opens into drill storage and module storage. Module storage provides more items. Stockpile can hold less VARIETY but more SHEER volume. I was thinking 2 or 3 different items per stockpile module. Because othervise stockpile module would be just crippled.

OP how? Do you want a downgrade, or sidegrade? Because both of the things you say will be bad. Just one item per 2 walls doesn’t seem good. And if you have to manually put things in and out of stockpile will break the very thing it needs to do. Your inventory is limited, and will become a bottle neck of the whole thing.

With how the game is in the current state and due to the last update i rhink this idea is op if the system changes back to the old way at that time ill have to rethink it but this is what i see.

Currently you really only need 1 of each module so for calculations we will say they are all T3. 1 power plant 1 geo plant 5 t2 turrets and 5 doors. That will take up 24 wall slots, 6 top slots.

With a total of 66 wall slots and 24 being used. Thats 42 slots remaining on the walls alone if the bulk uses the following

1 slot per module with 1 item 42 bulk stacks thats 42 modules and 42 item types

2 slots per module with 1 item bulk stacks thats 21 modules and 21 item types.

Then thats just the walls if this mod can go in the top thats a huge amount of storage space and with there being no item limits as stated on the first post that even makes it higher what let alone you dis mention that the bulk storage would hold 2-3 item types. What kinda of storage issues are you finding.

I’d kinda like a limited version of this that’s just for Coal. Maybe call it the Coal Tender Module or Coalscuttle Module, and perhaps even give it a level indicator.
