Small scary Easter eggs to give the player a little spook on their adventure, idk I just want some kind of horror element in the game

I am utterly confused about this.
Scary easter eggs like what ? Any examples ? Wouldn’t that just be about making the ambiance scarier rather than having one or two easter eggs. I feel like we’re somewhat already on the way to this with the intense ash and the mines/basements/tunnels.

Idk just something like a ghost encounter for a few brief seconds or something scary in the caves you can encounter randomly for a couple second just some scary Easter eggs to add a little horror to the game

What you CAN do with scares is litter dead cogs in some places. If you appproach they MIGHT latch onto you and damage you a bit. The reason for scare is not knowing. It doesn’t really work with First Person Shooter. But you MIGHT work with it… Or you might have, if it was less Action/Crafting. Less ammo, less light, a labyrinth(rooms, some locked, some not), atmosphere… Mabye something in the world of Volcanoids… You need a steampunk castle, all new levels of cogs, that can’t be on a wiki somewhere. Something that you don’t KNOW. Maybe outright magical cogs, that can walk through walls, or melt as a liquid terminator through the floor… Sounds… As of this game? No.
